Every creative is shaped by their environment. The tools they use, the ideas they pursue, and the spaces they inhabit all influence the work they create. From fully customized studios to improvised corners, creativity can happen anywhere—but the space itself always leaves a mark.

As a graphic design student at Utah Valley University, my practice has developed within the constraints of shared classrooms, balancing technical growth with the pursuit of authentic, personal work. While refining my own style, I’ve been drawn to the environments of other artists—spaces that feel like extensions of their creativity, filled with energy, intention, and inspiration.

This project is a collection of seven local Utah artists, their creative spaces, and the stories behind them. Through interviews and photography, it explores how the environment shapes the way artists think, work, and create. These environments highlight that creativity doesn’t come from perfect conditions, but from a strong sense of self.
